Description
CARBOL FUCHSIN DILUTE is a diluted form of the staining solution used in microbiology and histology for the detection of acid-fast bacteria, particularly Mycobacterium species. It is a solution of basic fuchsin (also known as fuchsine) in phenol and ethanol, but with a lower concentration compared to the strong version. CARBOL FUCHSIN DILUTE is used in the Ziehl-Neelsen staining method and other acid-fast staining techniques to stain acid-fast bacteria, which retain the stain even after decolorization with acid-alcohol.
