Description

Benzoin is an organic compound derived from benzaldehyde. It is a white crystalline solid with a sweet, balsamic odor. Benzoin is primarily used in perfumery and as a flavoring agent. It is also used in medicine as an antiseptic, expectorant, and antitussive agent. In addition, benzoin is used in the production of pharmaceuticals, as a fixative in the manufacture of incense, and as a component in some adhesive formulations.
