Description
FIELD’S STAIN-A, also known as Field’s stain solution A, is a component of the Field’s staining method used in microbiology and histology for staining bacteria, especially acid-fast bacteria like Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This staining method is crucial for diagnosing tuberculosis and other related diseases.
Field’s stain solution A typically contains basic fuchsin or carbol fuchsin, which stains acid-fast bacteria red or pink. The staining process involves first applying Field’s stain solution A to the sample, followed by decolorization with acid-alcohol or ethanol, and then counterstaining with another solution, often Field’s stain solution B or methylene blue, to visualize non-acid-fast bacteria or background material.
